A new documentary following Simon Blair's physical and mental journey through the Marathon des Sables while raising awareness about ADHD and mental health. It’s a story of resilience, breaking stigmas, and pushing both mental and physical limits.

ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY

  • Raising Awareness for ADHD UK: A major goal of the documentary is to raise awareness and funds for ADHD UK, a charity that supports individuals dealing with ADHD and related mental health challenges.

  • Simon Blair’s Personal Journey: Simon was diagnosed with ADHD later in life, and the film explores how this has shaped his resilience and outlook on life, within the extreme setting of the MDS.

  • Focus on Mental Health and Neurodiversity: The documentary goes beyond physical limits, using Simon Blair’s personal story to highlight mental health challenges, particularly those tied to ADHD, aiming to break stigmas around neurodiversity

  • Themes of Failure and Resilience: The film centers on the idea of “rising above failure,” inspiring viewers to embrace challenges and setbacks as pathways that can lead to personal growth.

  • The Marathon des Sables: The MDS is an infamous 250 km ultramarathon across the Sahara Desert, often referred to as the toughest foot race on Earth. Participants face extreme heat, sand dunes, and rocky terrain over six days.

  • Ryan Lovejoy’s Biggest Project: Directed, filmed, and edited independently, this documentary is his largest project to date. With a strong background in filming in the world's most extreme environments, Ryan has used his years of experience to capture the essence of the MDS in a way that’s never been done before.
